These audio portraits were created by two students who took part in the Methodological Orientations research project. Following walking interviews and focus groups, I asked Clark and Kate (pseudonyms) to re-listen to the audio we had recorded to pull clips or moments that connected with them to begin to create a “portrait” - their own analysis of what happened, what was important, what mattered. We then met to listen to the clips together and talk about their process of selecting and creating, and to expand on stories-not-told.
The links below offer multiple entry points to these (re)compilations we created. The compilations are both playlists of the clips Kate and Clark, respectively, selected. Kate’s portrait is a co-created piece with a textual representation created by Kate in the background, overlayed with an audio composition of the clips she had pulled.
